Ingredients
  • 2 inch thick steak
  • 1/2 cup Rendered bacon fat
  • Season to Taste sea salt, ground pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, & paprika or your favorite dry season mix
Servings: People
Instructions
  1. Allow steak to come to room temperature before cooking
  2. 20 mins before cooking, rub dry seasonings into both sides of steak
  3. Preheat bacon fat in a large heavy duty skillet on medium high heat for 5 minutes or until boiling hot
  4. Place seasoned steak in hot skillet and for two minutes per side
  5. Remove steak with tongs, allow to rest for at least 5 minutes before cutting
  6. Top with a slice of REAL butter
  7. Kick it up EVEN MORE by topping with hot sautéed mushrooms, blue cheese, and crumbled bacon
Recipe Notes

It is important not to overcook your steak!

Cooking time guide- (for 2 inch thick steak- reduce by half for thinner steaks)

Rare - 2 minutes per side.

Medium Rare - 2 ½ minutes per side

Medium - 3 minutes per side

Medium Well - 3 ½ minutes per side

Well Done - 4 minutes per side

Important Final Step!! Allow cooked steak to rest on clean cutting board for 5 minutes before cutting. If you cut the steak too soon, all of your juices will run out of the steak leaving your steak dry.
